Last week we attended the AUE 50th Anniversary Annual Conference and Exhibition.
It was held at the University of Stirling. It was so good to be able to catch up with customers face to face after such a long while. As main sponsors this year there was a nice synergy in that the AUE is celebrating its 50th anniversary at the same time Prefect is 25.
Day one took us on an excursion to the Deanston Distillery. It couldn’t have been more appropriate for a group of engineers and Energy Managers to be shown the hydro-electric turbine that generates sufficient electricity for the site, that 3/4 is sold back to the grid while the remainder is used to dry the malt. This process gives the whisky a sweeter flavour than those dried with fire.
The Taste of Scotland welcome meal was exceptional. Then Day 2 was full on Exhibition, great to discuss what we do with so many new faces.
The Gala dinner was held at Stirling Castle. Scottish fayre, pipers, drummers, dancers. What a tremendous venue.
While exhibiting, we invited visitors to enter a draw for a Virgin Experience Days voucher.
